A Maui vacation sounded like a great idea. Staying at a Maui Bed and Breakfast was a different idea, and I wasn’t too sure. We had stayed at one in another state, and it wasn’t great.
I just didn’t like the idea that you had to sit down and have breakfast with strangers, but Tayna promised that we wouldn’t have to do this, and we didn’t. Miranda, one of the owners, said first thing that we can get service in our own suite.
Tayna had booked The Ocean Ohana Suite. It had a really cool table in the dining room that you can move to have an ocean view or one of the deck or lanai. Most mornings we chose to look out over the water. You don’t get much water in Missouri, unless it’s on a muddy river or small lake.
Tayna like the open feel of The Ocean Suite. I liked the idea that you could get online, too. I had to be connected, as I wanted to make sure my son, Rob, was doing okay in his new job. He wanted to know how we were doing. I told him that a Maui Bed and Breakfast was a lot different than the one we has stayed at before.
We rented a car for a couple of days and did some exploring. The beach is real close, and it’s huge. Lots of room for walking or jogging, if you want. We drove all around, exploring.
The thing that I got kind of antsy about was that the Two Mermaids was kind of isolated. Tayna liked it, though. She deals with people all day in her job. Night is great for watching the sunsets, but after it goes down I wanted a little more action and nightlife closer.
All in all, it was a great trip. It was our first Maui vacation, and it probably won’t be our last one.
