It was Brit’s idea to stay at the Ocean Breeze Hideway Bed and Breakfast. She has been reading about Maui Bed and Breakfasts on Trip Advisor and Frommers, and just like the way this looked and read. This was our third Maui vacation and our fifth Hawaii vacation, so we were pretty seasoned and were looking for a more unique and personal experience.

We found it!

Ocean Breeze Hideway Bed and Breakfast has that old and unrushed feeling that I think you used to get on a typical Maui vacation. We had leisurely breakfasts with a great view of Maalaea Bay. I felt the kinks in my neck relaxing the first morning we sat there. It was very peaceful.

You’re not far from the beach, a few minute’s walk.

Our room was the Ocean Suite. We got our together time and our apart time. I vegged on one of the lanais and Brit on the other. She stayed connected with her laptop to her friends back home. I just read and slept.

High season rates were very reasonable. For right around one hundred bucks you get a really home type stay, which is about half the cost of some huge resort. Maui Bed and Breakfast stays are something the experienced traveler should look into.

Also, if your marriage or relationship is kind of rocky, Sande and Bob, the owners, are able to help you with that, as I guess they are counselors for that. So that can be a bonus for your Maui vacation.

Brit said we saved our marriage here because of the separate lanais and some apart time. We are not only married, but own a business together, so she might be right.
