The Ala Wai Canal (view map) flows along the Honolulu neighborhoods of Waikiki, Ala Moana, McCully and Moiliili. It starts near the Ala Wai Golf Club (near Kapahulu Avenue) and flows into the ocean at the Ala Wai Boat Harbor.

The canal is a popular spot for kayaking. Every day you can see many kayakers passing by. This area is one of the best places in Honolulu to live because is relatively hidden from the city noise, it has a park area and it is right on the canal and about a four-minute walk from Ala Moana Beach and shopping center.
