It’s just my opinion but the views at the Hibiscus Hideaway Apartment are the best of the three at the North Shore Ocean View Cottages. The price is certainly right. You pay less than $150 per night based on a week, double.

Not bad for a Maui vacation, I think. There are some great views of Maui’s shore, and I was out there with the camera all the time.

The furnishings are light and breezy and what you would expect in renting a cottage. It’s all very comfortable, with a covered lanai for relaxing and a Futon for kids, or others. It’s very bright and airy inside, and I really liked this. I’m closed up in a cubical all week. This seemed like the wide open spaces, especially with the beautiful views of the coast right out the door.

You have to remember to request breakfast, though. And it’s not a B&B, so you have to pay extra for it, but it’s worth it, especially if you’re feeling extra lazy.

Jana had brought her laptop, because she can’t be without it, and the wireless connection worked very well. I liked the blue tile in the bathroom, and when I get back I will try to match it closely when I re-tile our bathroom. Jana liked the color, too.

This is a really laid-back type of place, and it’s convenient if you need supplies. There were cooking facilities here, and I did a couple of meals. I’d recommend Hibiscus Hideaway Apartment for anybody considering a Maui vacation on a bit of a budget.
