Tour to Foster Botanical Garden and other Honolulu attractions
I and my friend made a Honolulu city tour today and we visited the following locations – Forster Botanical Garden, Chinatown, Honolulu Hale, the Hawaii State Library and the Mission Houses Museum.
It was a pretty good tour and we got the chance to walk a lot. First we stopped at the Forster Botanical Garden. Luckily we did not have to pay an entrance fee today because there was a plant sale going on, so they let us in free. The place is pretty cool and there are many tropical palm trees, plants and other trees. Each one was labeled with a small green sign which was either stuck to the tree or on the ground right in front of it. There were many species from all over the world, including Africa, Australia and Asia and some giant trees which names I don’t remember. Sorry

The garden had many banks to sit on too, so if you decide to visit and get tired you can sit and relax. However, make sure you bring water with you because it was so humid and since we got dehydrated and dizzy we had to leave early. There was not a place in the garden where you could buy water. Maybe in the Forster Botanical Garden shop in the front there was water, but we did not check.

Besides the humidity we did not like the fact that the garden is located on a major boulevard so we could hear the traffic noise all the time. It was funny how the traffic noise mixed up with the nice birdie songs coming from the inhabitants of the garden :).
After we left the garden we were so thirsty so we had to stop somewhere and get something to drink. We stopped at the Red Elephant Café located near the Hawaii Theatre. I used to go to this cute café every day some time ago and now I was glad to stop by again. We had something to drink and eat, relaxed for a bit and we continued our walking tour through Chinatown.

By the way, if you want to buy cheap fruits and vegetables in Honolulu, this is the place to go. Bananas were as low as 59 cents for an organic pound! Compared to the other local retailers this is really cheap. A pound of organic bananas everywhere else is approximately $1.49. So you get the idea, don’t you?

After we toured Chinatown we headed to the library, got some books from there and then headed to Honolulu Hale. We walked in the park around it, which is a very nice, green and peaceful park. We relaxed a bit and then headed to our final stop, the Mission Houses Museum. We were already tired, so we did not chill so much there.
