The Shore Bird beach bar and restaurant is located in the Outrigger Reef on the Beach hotel at the western end of Waikiki, near the Sheraton and Halekulani hotels and Fort DeRussy Park.

This is a great place to go and chill with friends. The Shore Bird is located directly on Waikiki Beach, so you can see the ocean from almost every table. There is live music every evening, mainly light rock and pop and sometimes authentic Hawaiian music, but not always.

Although I really love this place, I don’t like the fact that they don’t have more authentic Hawaiian or slack key guitar music. When you imagine having a drink on the beach of Waikiki in Hawaii, you expect to hear lovely Hawaiian tunes, right? Well, you will not find it here. The other downside is that the place gets a bit noisy when crowded.

Other than that it is a perfect place to go and I recommend. Actually, every time I have a guest from abroad I take them to the Shore Bird. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner all-you-can-eat buffets.

The food is really good and there is a lot of variety. So it can please both vegetarian and non-vegetarian people.

If you decide to go to the Shore Bird, get one of these free Oahu magazines you will find everywhere in Waikiki and look for a discount coupon in there. This place has huge discounts of up to 50% off for the entire meal. Even without a coupon, their rates are pretty good. A salad bar is around $14.95 (all you can eat).

If you order meat, you can cook it yourself on the Shore Bird’s grill. Meat dishes also include the salad bar.
