Restaurants on the Big Island On the Big
Island, you’ll find the most restaurant choices in
Kailua-Kona, where most of the visitors stay. Here you
find proven franchises like Bubba Gump, Outback or
Sizzler, all the fast food chains and a lot of
individual small eateries like pasta houses, asian
restaurants, seafood shacks, pupu bars and much more.
In the coffee plantations, there are several very unique
small restaurants in the quaint towns or right inside
the plantations.
You’ll find star-rated cuisine at some of the luxury
resorts; a great French restaurant is in Waimea as well
as a German/European one. Toward the east around Hilo,
there are more Hawaiian places, Saimin noodle soup
houses, grill shops and a few good local seafood
restaurants.
The variety and number of restaurants is not as big as
it is on Oahu, but there is something for every taste on
the big island. Vegetarians and meateaters, seafood
lovers, gourmets and gourmands – no one will leave the
Big Island hungry!
